Tazeen
Hasan
started her label, Tazeen Hasan & Eastern Values
some seven years ago in 1992. From the beginning,
her focus was on clean cuts and simple lines. Even
now, her emphasis continues to be on sleek cuts and
silhouettes with minimum embellishment.
Catering
to an exclusive clientele, presently Tazeen has outlets
in Karachi and Lahore, indicating her journey in the
fashion arena during the past few years. Dealing with
womens wear, Pret-a-Porter and Haute Couture, Tazeen's
designs are reflective of the coming times.
"Silver
is predominantly the colour of the season. With Icy
Blues and Frosty Lilacs also being some of the designer
favourites. Glitter in any form whether in terms of
fabric or embroidery is reigning supreme. Fabrics
are stretchy, soft and very feminine like Mesh and
Lamies. Not to forget the modd, which is opulent,
very festive and romantic."
Out
of the closet (The News on Sunday - October 18, 1998)
From
romance to routine, a dinner plays an important role
in almost every aspect of our lives. Hence such an
important occasion which can make or break anything
from a vow to a deal, calls for fuss and detail. And
it all begins with the wardrobe. Decent dinnerwear
that creates a favourable impression is as rate as
a piece of art at a throwaway price. And Tazeen
Hasan certainly brings a rare thing closer.
No stranger to the cutting table, she designs for
the well heeled woman who never gets it wrong.
Her
new dinner line has outfits that rely on the fall.
Sensual georgettes and cascading crepes give a flowing
touch to structure shalwar kameez. Night hues like
deep blues, basic blacks and charcoal greys make the
line cut for dinner. While her embellishments don't
steal the focus from an outfit and blend in to create
harmony. Using tonal or undestated embroidery as a
medium, Tazeen paints a picture that is sensed deeply
and leaves a mark.
